Custom-made black tea made from purple tea

High Mountain Purple Black Tea is a very rare black tea made from a wild purple tea species. The tea leaves used for this production are obtained from a naturally grown tea plantation at an altitude of 2000m, without pesticides or fertilizers.

It has a sweet, mellow aroma reminiscent of peach or sweet potato, and has a memorable creamy mouthfeel that is unique to high mountain tea.

It is made using the first tea of the spring and has a very soft texture, so even if you are hungry and drink several cups, it won't upset your stomach.

This tea also goes well with milk tea. We recommend brewing it with a lot of milk.

A rare purple tea even in Yunnan

In the southwest of Lincang City, Yunnan Province, there is a tea called purple tea. This tea is only cultivated in a small area, so purple tea is very rare.

There are many different types of wild tea in the Lincang region, and some of them are characteristically very similar to purple tea. It is therefore speculated that purple tea originated from wild tea varieties that were cultivated by ethnic minorities.

Incidentally, there is a variety of tea in Shisobanna called Shikincha, but this variety is morphologically completely different from this tea.

While the entire leaves of Purple Silk Tea are purple and have a bitter taste, Lincang Purple Tea looks the same as regular tea at first glance, except for the slightly purple stems.

Mysteriously, purple tea changes to a very deep indigo color when it is processed. HOJO purchased purple tea in 2014 and 2015, processed it into raw Pu-erh tea and sold it.

I've heard it's delicious! We produce black tea to order

The areas where purple tea is cultivated are extremely limited, and even within Lincang City, purple tea is only grown in some mountain villages in Zhenkang and Yongde counties.

Because the raw materials themselves are very limited, I have never seen purple tea processed into any tea other than raw Pu-erh tea.

However, a few years ago, I heard a producer I work with say, "I tried the black tea made from purple tea and it was delicious."

Apparently, his friend tried making it and found it to be very unique and delicious.

This story intrigued me so I came up with a plan to make black tea from purple tea by custom ordering it from a skilled tea master who owned his own black tea production facilities.

In addition to the limited availability of raw materials, tea production in 2017 was very low due to dry weather, making it very difficult to obtain raw materials.

Although the final volume was less than expected, we succeeded in turning purple tea into black tea through high-precision processing. This tea is almost impossible to obtain even in Yunnan Province.

Naturally grown tea harvested from a 2000m tea plantation

The purple tea used in this production was obtained from a tea plantation located at an extremely high altitude of 2,000m.

Of course, this tea is grown naturally without chemicals or fertilizers. This tea has a creamy texture that is unique to high mountain tea.

Characterized by a sweet, mellow fragrance reminiscent of white peach

High mountain purple black tea is made using the first tea of the spring harvest, and has a very soft taste, so even if you are hungry and drink several cups, it will not give you a stomach ache.

In addition, since it has almost no astringency or bitterness, it is a tea that children will also enjoy.

The aroma of high mountain purple tea is very distinctive, reminiscent of peaches, nectarines, marigolds, sweet potatoes, purple sweet potatoes, and dried sweet potatoes. It was a very popular tea among women during in-house tastings before its release.

Because it is made using naturally grown tea, it has a strong lingering aroma and a rich aftertaste.

Another characteristic of purple tea is its full-bodied flavor. When you put it in your mouth, the aroma spreads softly, giving it a gorgeous impression.

High mountain purple black tea also goes well with milk tea. We recommend adding a lot of milk.
